A poem a day
This morning I read an article on NPR that talked about the value of reading a poem a day. I was touched by this and searched on the Web for a source of poems that I could dip into when I needed "word sustenance" and I found this site. The poem I read today was by Walt Whitman and these words were especially meaningful. On the words in poems, Whitman writes:
"...Whom they take, they take into space, to behold the
birth of stars, to learn one of the meanings,
To launch off with absolute faith--to sweep through
the ceaseless rings, and never be quiet again."
Words, poems, writings--they take us on incredible journeys!
