I had a quiet afternoon yesterday and was able to get out my painting things and create some etegami -- Japanese "picture letters."
Getting together my postcard blanks, gansai paints, sumi ink, brushes and water, I was able to get three etegami completed. I keep a list of ideas in my Field Notes book, and with the never-ending winter we have, a large blue snowflake was on my mind! I was also inspired by the quilt my friend Anita sent me, and the upcoming InCoWriMo.

I truly enjoy painting these and wish I had time to do it every day. See more of my etegami in my Flickr photo set here.
